Etcetera Kitten's First Report
Etcetera Kitten's Second Report
From Etcetera Kitten's first night:
FIRST REPORT, JULY 15TH/8PM
Hey hey! EK is back from Cats and still so excited she probably won’t be able to sleep tonight! If you do not wanna go through my summary of the night, please at least do read the intermission and after-show parts, I am sooo happy about what happened to me during those!
And with no further useless talk, on with the show!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GETTING TO THE THEATER
I came back from my job slightly earlier with permission from ym boss so I could get prepared for Cats! I ate fast food, took a nice showerd then applied my makeup! Since my Rumple wig has a huge bald spot in the back *unfinished*, I decided to wear my Etcetera wig with my matching makeup., tail, warmers.
I finished my makeup just in time and my family drove down to La Place des Arts for the show! The representation was at 8 o’ clock, and in the very same theater than it was two years ago the first time I saw it live. On the road, men and women would stare at me in the car and point and giggle, and a man waved at me and called me « Cute kitty! ». It was all very fun. When I arrived at the theater, people would stare and point, but generally not in a mean way.
Step one of the evening was spoiling myself with Cats stuff! I bought the reversible hard poster, the beautiful program and a Rum Tum Tugger keychain that looks very cute! It cost me 45 bucks total which isnt so bad. I’m only sad I didnt buy a new shirt considering the one I bought two years ago is completely worn-out.
THE SHOW!
I sat down in my place, which was a bit too far but oh well (we were in the 10th row or something…) and I waited impatiently. Again, people would turn back and look at me with funny eyes. A little boy sitting in the row behind me came to me to say hello and said he had never seen Cats before and that I was cute ^^ People were nice and my wig didnt bother anyone, which means I kept it on my the whole time. I am still wearing it ATM.
And then, the music started and my heart stopped. I will admit I had my eyes wet by then, I was so happy! Lights flashing everywhere, colors and then the famous green eyes lights! The cast members came pretty close to me in the row. And then it was all quiet. Dem went onstage, and my favourite Cats song of all time started!
ACT I
Jellicle songs for Jellicle Cats was AWESOME! No technical difficulties, awesome choregraphy, the singers had beautiful voices and the choir effect was great! Munku’s voice was strong and it was loud in the theater. He was one lovely tom! And I instantly noticed that Alonzo wasn’t the black and white one, but the brown/yellow one. Another handsome tom I kept my eyes on during the show. Ohhh and I sadly noticed the cast was missing the twins. My fave part of the song would have to be right after the pyramid when the music starts loudly again. Best song of all!
Then it was The naming of cats. Once again, some performers got pretty close to me because the stage was U shaped and at the end of the song, they crawled down the U to the exit doors. Victoria was an understudy, but she danced the invitation quite well. She only seemed to have problems with the first move of lifting her leg, it took her a bit of time to get it correct. But hey, I cant even stretch my pinkie finger elegantly, so I still found her terribly amazing!
Jennyanydots was also very entertaining! The lady that plays her is quite young (hehe, I met her after the show but for now I’m not saying any more) and she has a cute high voice. The beetle costumes were shiny and poofy, oh and when Munku, Bomb, Dem and Jelly come back to dance with the group, their entrance is sooo funny! What nice tap dancer kittens!
And then the Tugger! Oh the Tugger, the crowd’s favourite. He’s the one that got the best applauding at the final bows. The guy that plays him is very energic and he loves to move and make funny faces. I loved how he danced with the woman of the audience and then made her a sign to « Call me! ». The kittens were also quite loud and found of him, but I thought there was a bit room for improvement. Well I dunno if it is because I am used to the DVD, but I felt like the queens werent squealing and trying to get him enough. Oh well, thats why all casts should have Etcetera! I did the job for tonigt ;]
After, we got Griz’s first appearance. Sooo breaking the cats’ fun lol. The lady that plays her is also very young, surprise! She had a very fresh voice, not like DVD griz. And oh does she sing! I felt sorry when Tumble (I think twas him…) scratched her, but the face he made was very funny.
Bustopher was funny, but I really wasnt much found of his wig. Other than that he was wonderful. I dunno much what to say about him. The kittens around him were all checking themselves and making sure they were clean and polite and everything. Bustopher’s song really isnt my favourite usually, but this time it was great fun to watch!
Mungo and Rumple! What a cute duo! Mungo was very amusing, and very cute in the role. Rumple was white-ish, which isnt usually my fave design. But she has such a cute high voice, and their laughters were very hilarious. A lot of mischief and energy! Definately one of the good songs of the show.
Old Deuteronomy! Ohhh, tonight, my favourite Cat would have to be him. Instead of looking much at Munku and Tugger during the song, I was checking the door where Old Deut would come out with Skimble. I love the guy’s costume. He had a pretty strong voice. Not like Ken Page, but still very father-like, very impressive.
The tour doesnt have Pekes and Pollicles, so it was the Jellicle ball. Needless to say, the dancing was amazing and there even was the hardcore moment of the song, with added electric guitar and all haha! Different from DVD, but so nice! The mating dance was too short, I had a hard time figuring who was with who. But Mungo and Rumple were together, and I saw Misto with Cassie, yay! I love this couple. Then the song ended and Old D remained onstage. That is when I got to live a glorious little 15 minuts…
THE INTERMISSION, AKA WHY EK HAS A REASON TO BRAG!
When the light came back and the theater slowly emptied for the intermission, I saw Old D staying as the usual on his tire. I decided to go down in front of the stage and take a look at him. I arrived at the bottom of the stage, and there was a little girl in her mom’s arms that was waving at « The big kitty ». She saw me behind her and her eyes lit up and she stretched an arm and started to pet my wig with a very happy expression. I laughed and talked to her a bit, asking her how old she was and if she liked the show. Her mom found my costume interesting as well. And then I told the little girl : « Hey, lemme try and say Hi to Old Deuteronomy. »
So I walked aside and I waved. Surprisingly, Old D followed me with his eyes. I tried moving at the bottom of the stage, acting like a cat and tiltimg my head and smiling at him. It made the little girl laugh, because Old D was definately finding me funny. And when I went back beside the little girl, I saw him STAND UP from his seat and walk, slowly, as if he were analysing me as a fellow Jellicle. I wouldn’t believe it. The little girl was thrilled and said « Oh mummy hes coming to see me! » and her mom replied « Oh wait, I think he is interested in that other kitten. »
And then Old D was very close to me at the end of the stage. I smiled and said "Old Deuteronomy?", which caused the guy to smile back and kinda hold back laughters. I stretched an arm like Victoria does to touch Griz, and Old D came close and we shared the « paw touch » move for a few seconds. We were both smiling. I was thinking « Hey awesome, the guy is really playing the game, I am so lucky! » And I know he was thinking « Hey, this girl is really into the show! »
And then when he stopped playing with me, he walked offstage and then came back onstage. My bet is he went backstage and told the other performers there was someone in costume out there (since they are all pretty much new in the cast, they didnt get to see costumed fans yet I guess).
So there I am standing in front of the stage, feeling lucky, and with a little girl petting my wig. I turn back to go back at my seat, and there is that short girl in front of me standing with a tall guy. She smiles and tells me « Oh, how beautiful! What cat are you? » And I say « Hum well Etcetera, only she isn’t in this production miss, she is usually seen in London… »
The young woman smiles and pokes the tall guy « She is London Etcetera, isn’t her costume great?! ». So I get surprised and ask her « Oh, you too know the show very well? » and she goes « Yeah girl, I play in it! ». That’s when I saw the « CATS » collar tag on her and the Cats logo on the guy's shirt.
Well guys, I had the show’s Victoria and the Mungo/Misto understudy right there in front of me, amazed at my costume. Victoria (well Sara) was incredibly nice, and answered some of my questions about the show! She is a very pretty, very sweet and calm girl. She wasnt on stage that night because during the day’s practice she has fallen and needed a bit of rest. She said she was impressed to see me support them like this. I laughed and said I was happy she didn’t think I was some sort of freaky extreme fanatic. I talked to her and her friend for a good 5-6 minuts, and she even told me how to go to the stage door. She said I should be in Cats some day, and start to do auditions lol. When the show was about to start again, she said good bye and went back in the door. She said she had gotten out to see my costume, which is quite flattering.
So yeah, amazing intermission! During the whole Act II, I was eager to get to the stage door and have a small chat with the cast members!
ACT II
All the songs were quite amazing, but the highlight was Growltiger’s last stand. Griddlebone (new in the cast) was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! And so were the Siamese, I loved their accentvoice tone as they sang. The costumes were so shiny, it distracted me greatly.
I know I am skipping songs, but then I don’t want my review to be too long. Skimbleshanks was very good, very energic! I wasnt disapointed that he didnt have a british accent, because the singer was very in-character.
Macavity was also nice! I hears the velcro sounds when Demeter removed him Old D costume hehe! And I loved how many cats fought with him. Alonzo was very nice! Misto was also an understudy but did an amazing job! When he made magical tricks, there were long shiny confetti strands shot in the air, and I was lucky enough to catch a long one right onto me. Both times that I went to Cats, I caught those shiny confettis. They make a nice souvenir!
And then the beautiful Griz sang memory while I was holding back a tear. And the best part of the whole show was the way Vicky touched her. The first contact with her hand was shy, but then the actress that played Vicky showed an amazing compassion and she hugged her, petted her and rubbed her head against her arm. It was very beautiful to see all the others RUSH to Griz, seeing that they had been wrong. Very beautiful moment. If you go see the Troika tour, try to notice this particular moment of the show.
The Heaviside layer and Ad-dressing of Cats were also incredibly touching. After those songs, the crown applauded and I stood up and people followed. The Cats took their final bows to the public. Tugger was warmly applauded. And after the bows, Bomb and him did their funny final where Bomb pushes him down and walks over him. I was very sad it was all finished, but I rushed to the stage door and waited.
THE STAGE DOOR, AKA OLD D ROCKS MY SOCK!
The lady at the door kindly let me in and told me to wait at the stage door for when the Cast would come out. There was another girl waiting with me to get autographs. We talked a lot together and shared or e-mails. She said my costume was amazing. She was a huge PoTO fan, and it was her first time seeing Cats. She was English but spoke French quite well. After a while, the performers came out. We say Jennyanydots, Grizabella and Mungojerrie. Mungo was very sweet, and Jenny was a very enthusiastic person. She shook hands with me and said « Thanks for coming! ». It was quite ironing because I should have been the one thanking her for coming out and see me.
Then other cast members came out. I saw that AMAZING OldD guy. He smiled when he saw me and stretched an arm out, that I touched again. He said my costume was surprisingly cute, especially the wig. We joked about how he’d touched my hand onstage and he kindly signed my program and took pictures with me. Then more performers were coming out and walking past us, and he told them « Hey guys don’t run, this is part of your job! »
Most of the cast members were new, I cannot really blame them for trying to avoid « The girl that came in costume » though. But they laughed and decided to play fair and signed my program as well. They were two girls, Cassandra and Jellylorum. Two young women, I told them how I had loved the performance. And then, more people came out O.x, Alonso and Misto and understudies and the Victoria girl I had talked to during the intermission! They were all asking me about my tail/wig, which was quite funny because they wear theirs every day or almost XD
Alonzo signed my program. He was soooo sweet! He called ALL the others into a giant group picture so I could « Have a nice souvenir from us! ». When I asked him who he was playing at first, he said « Oh me? I’m Alonzo… » as if it wasnt much of a big part. But he saw my enthusiasm and was flattered I guess. I told him about how neat it was to see a brown Alonzo and not a black and white one, and I asked him about his makeup. He looked surprised that I knew the designs and all, and he said I really was a neat fan lol.
Some cast members told me they werent even able to do their makeup as well as mine, which made me laugh. Oh guys, I had a wonderful time with them, and during the whole show! It was only a bit too short, and I didnt get to meet everyone. I didnt wanna hold them there too long. I took nice pictures though for you all to enjoy! I am sorry I do not know who everyone on the picture plays who, but I do know a few. The guy that is beside me in the two first pics is OldD though. The best of all the performers I met, along with Victoria. They disserve my respect for being so close and attentive to their fans. I cant say here how happy I was to talk to them and get to know the show a bit better.
I had a real blast there! Do not miss the Troika Tour when it passes close to you!
From Etcetera Kitten's second night:
SECOND REPORT, JULY 16TH/2PM
Today, my parents woke me up early and asked me if I was « interested » in seeing Cats again in the afternoon. Ok now I let you guys guess what kind of answer I gave them :wink :
On with the second report of my wonderful experience with the Troika Tour!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GETTING TO THE THEATER
I decided that this evening, I would go see Cats as my humble self. Going twice in two days in the same costume didn’t feel right anyways. That would have looked terribly dork XD
So I took the bus with my mummy (only her came this time, my father and sis went elsewhere) and arrived at La Place des Arts around 1 o’clock. We went to get our pre-ordered tickets (we were in the F section of the theater, about the 15th row, which is extremely good considering we got the tickets the very day).
My first stop was… the merchandise stand XD I bought two shirts this time, the one with the famous Cats DVD cover design, and the other with just the Cats logo and yellow eyes. I can’t wait to wear these! After that I was broke, so I went to take my seat in the theater ^^
THE SHOW
The music started and once again I felt drown into the junkyard’s atmosphere. The set really looked good, even though it was the inflatable one. I watched the amazing light effects, and since I had my seat at the very end of the line, when the Cats with glowing eyes came out, I had the amazing luck to see them and smile and play with them. Skimble passed close to me and sniffed me. Cassandra passed close to me twice. Bombalurina also came by, but not with the green eyes on her and she stayed against the wall for a while while I was waving at her. It was a very awesome moment!
Jellicle songs for Jellicle Cats was just as great tonight as yesterday! This time I tried to center my attention on what was happening in the background during the whole show. I spotted many funny things, such as Misto (played by the swing Ryan Richardson for both nights) having issues with his tail belt. I also kept my eyes on the « Young Griz ». Too bad I was a tad too far to notice her costume details!
Then the naming of Cats went well. The Cats moved around and the lighting was nice. Victoria wasn’t an understudy tonight, so she danced her solo with more assurance. I was glad to see this girl (Sara M. Rearson) I had talked to a good 6 minutes yesterday perform. She was one of the most kitten-like performers. Beside Sillabub or Rumpel, she was much more credible. Misto came in and it is Munku that sang the invitation. I still really love how loud and resonating his voice is ^^
Gumbie was energic. I met the girl that plays her at the stage door yesterday, and I can tell you all she really is that sweet, energic and quick-talking person that fits the role so well! I love her high squealing and yelling at the beetles. The trio of Bomb/Dem/Jelly was also very good, their voices made a good harmony!
And the Tugger came! I love his « Wooo! » instead of a meow. Dave Schoonover plays the Tugger with a lot more of a rock n’ roll attitude than John Partridge. I much prefer his Elvis/Country singer costume to the almost all black one of the DVD Tugger. And this actor’s got the hip thrusting move quite well too, haha. Once again, my only critique on this number is how the female kittens seem to lack his interest in him during the song. Oh and while the Tugger was doing his « abouuuut » and the female were screaming, at some point the Tugger stopped and said « Oh yeah! » which made all the audience laugh.
Grizabella the glamour cat. Angie Smith really gives life to her role! She is also one of the people I met at the stage door yesterday. She looked much younger than the usual Griz, and her voice did also sound much younger, but then she was soooo convincing with her tripping and her nostalgy of her young days! During this song, Dem also did very good, and we also get to see Cassandra show off a bit.
Bustopher Jones (Christopher E. Sidoli ) was once again very funny. The way he walks around in his costume looks quite goofy. But my favourite bit of the song was how Tumblebrutus (or was it Plato?) played with his tail while the poor fat cat walked. He just wouldn’t stop! And the kittens were all falling down and trying to stay still. Nice song to watch! And then the lights went off and there was a minute of Macavity panic.
Then Mungo (Mark Donaldson) and Rumple (Joanna Silvers) came in! They only sing the « If the area window was found ajar… » part of the song though, and they completely skip the « When the family assembles for Sunday dinner » part of it, which is too bad, because it’s much better in my opinion. Mungo was once again very funny and bouncy. Rumple’s voice is incredibly great and high, and the way they both laugh together after breaking the ming vase is the best moment of the song. Mungo’s laughter is hilarious! I met both of them after the show. Mark was incredibly nice and talked to me a bit and about how he applies his makeup. Joanna showed up later and they hugged and said they’d be a nice duo for the upcoming year ^^ they really look cute together!
And then OldD’s song started. Munku (Ian Laskowski ) was good, Tugger too but I prefered Munk’s voice. And I am especially found of Philip Peterson’s OldD! If you read yesterday’s report you know what I mean haha! I was happy to see him perform again. This isn’t his first tour playing that role, so he has had time to grasp the character with the time. Two thumbs up for him!
After another minute of Macavity panic, we get the Jellicle ball. Victoria really stood out during the ball, with the mating dance and her being in front very often. She is probably the most graceful of the female dancers as well, and she is very in-character which is great. Munku danced very little, but he was fun to watch. I wondered a bit if he was mostly a singer that learned this dancing part. He was good, but he seemed a little less gracious than the others. But he is also very tall, so that may be why. Again, the « hardcore » moment of the ball surprised me. I am not sure wether I like the addition of electric guitars and dark purple lighting, because it feels odd with the rest of the show. But the ball was still completely amazing! During the mating dance, I tried to notice a few couples : Mungo/Rumple, Misto/Cassie and I think there was Bomba/Tumblebrutus.
Griz showed up another time and sang memory with a lot of credibility. She looked pretty sad when she tried to dance, it really moved me. Then it was the intermission. Since I was not in costume, I thought there would be little chance that OldD would recognize me. But what I did is I went at the bottom of the stage and analyzed the inflatable set for a while. Then, I waved at OldD and stretched an arm out like I had done yesterday, then I touched my heart and nodded, as to say « Twas me! ». He kinda stayed there and smiled, I wasn’t sure if he got it. But after a few more minuts, he stood up and walked around. I was still at the bottom of the stage and he came close to me, he smiled, sniffed a bit and we stared at each other. He also looked at some of the other kids, but then when he looked at me he kinda made a paw motion. I smiled and stretched my arm again and he nodded. I’ll never know if he recognized me but it was still special ^^
Moments of Happiness was good to listen to. Cassandra grabbed Plato’s(?) hand and Sillabub sang. She sings well, but the actress that plays her would need to get more in-character. She is very alright for the part, but she stands out in no special way. She looks older than what I imagine Sillabub, too. She looks like she’d be Alonzo’s age, and she doesn’t really do much to look very kittenish. I’m sure she’ll improve as the tour goes on, but for the time being, she really doesn’t stand out much, not even during her solos.
Gus the theater cat was funny. I was happy to see that number again, Christopher E. Sidoli is awesome as Gus. Jellylorum (Anissa Hartline) was young and fresh, and she had a gorgeous voice. For some reason when I think Jellylorum I think « Yellow! », and this Jelly was particularly… yellow! The costume was one of the most cat-like, only just a tad too… yellow XD. Anyways, very moving performance.
Growltiger’s last stand always amazes me! I love how goofy and stupid his crew looks. But Griddlebone is my favourite part of the number. Her costume is just too great and her voice is amazing. And the number is just soo funny, Growltiger keeps wanting to put his paws all over Griddle and she just pushes him away and makes a no-no gesture with a finger. We even get a very « odd » move from them while they lay down. This is probably, in my opinion, the funniest moment of the whole number.
SKIMBLESHANKS! I poked everyone yesterday before that number, and I poked my mom today as well just before it started, just to remind her « who is it coming next? HAHA! ». My sister HATES the song and she says that Skimble has to be taking drugs to looks so happy and enthusiastic XD personnally, I feel like Skimble’s song has one of the best and most cheerful beats of the whole show, with JsfJc. Skimble was once again amazing. My favourite line of his song would be the « I supervised them all… more or less. » The face he makes at this point is very hilarious. The train looked amazing, they build it soo fast! The chemney is made of an old lamp, the front is made of what looks like those carts in grocery stores. The train even moved a bit onstage. After the train crashes, all the cats laugh and Skimble looks desperate lol. I <3 Skimble! Felix Hess did a good job.
Then we get total Macavity panic. I love how they use two Macavity, one obviously wears a mask to confuse the audience. Demeter (Lisa Karlin) was alright, but not my « desiring » Macavity. The song was good, but it lacked sensuality. Ohh and an odd detail is that Alonzo stayed onstage during Dem’s part of the song, and he danced all the moves with her. It was distracting and kinda odd. The performer that plays Alonso truly is amazing, but I don’t see why they put him in the song. Bomb and Dem have always been a « hawt female duo » to my eyes, so seeing a male in there kinda confused me. ^^ but then again this is my humble fan opinion. Oh, and last complain on the number : Dem’s wig really doesn’t look much Cat-like XD sorry I had to say it.
The fight with Mac and Munk was great. I loved how Mac carried Dem around on his shoulder as if he was stealing a shirt or something. And Alonzo also stood out during the fight, I really love the guy that plays him! Oh and Lonzo’s costume/makeup design are incredibly neat to look at!
Then it was Mistoffelees! The understudy Ryan Richardson was completely amazing, so I can’t even imagine what the regular actor dances like hehe! (considering he’s probably been rehearsing the part even more). There is one thing I noticed on both representations, is that Misto did wear a coat with glittery beads on it, but it wasn’t lighting up or anything. I tried to see if Misto would touch his fingers and light it up, but nope. My bet is either the Troika tour has been through new budget cuts, OR maybe there is no coat of lights for the Misto understudies. Probably that only one performer is allowed to wear it to avoid damaging it? Whatever, it was a bit disapointing. And if it indeed was the light coat the performer was wearing, then it wasn’t much of a « light » coat but more of a « glittery » coat. My two cents on that haha. But whatever! People applauded the dancer after his Xth spinning turn. That was amazing! And everyone was soooo amazed at the come back of Old D! I wanted to laugh and point and say « Lol guys, lookie it’s the TUBE the TUBE! Cassie goes in the TUBE that is right under her and Deut comes out of it. Don’t be fooled by this trick XD »
Anyways. Then we saw Griz again. She sang in an even more powerful way than yesterday. I cried more during the show today than yesterday (I wasn’t afraid to ruin my makeup this time, so I didnt have to hold anything back). It was very moving, especially the moment where she trips and falls. The Sillabub was kind of alright but not quite convincing though. And I’ll have to say that when Victoria touches Griz, I prefered the way the understudy did it yesterday than the actual Vicky did today. But maybe it’s because I had already seen it and it was less moving :wink : The rising of the tire and adieu to Griz was awesome, too. You gotta love the amazing light effects ^^
The ad-dressing of Cats was particularly moving for me today. When the song started, I felt my heart tighten at the thought that this might be the last time I ever see Cats live. I am keeping my fingers crossed that a Cats tour will ever pass by Québec again. It was nice to take a look at the whole cast on the stage and see them sing how it is important to respect cats. OldD did an excellent job ^^
The final bows were amazing! The Cats all came down the stage and ran around the audience! Since my seat was at the very end of the line, I got to see Mungojerrie perform a cartwheel right beside me. He came and goofed around me. When he was by I said « Mungojerrie! ». The word kinda got out by itself, I was so enthusiastic! But hearing his name, Mungo stopped beside me and blinked, tilting his head and looking at me closely very in-character. So I said again « Mungojerrie! » and he smiled very brightly, nodding in a very frantic way and looking his happiest. He poked me and bouncedm then went in my back, took a look at a few more audience members then rushed back running to the stage, but when he did so he poked me gently, turned back and smiled. I wanted to tell him « HEY, twas me in the wig yesterday at the stage door! » but I just smiled and watched him take his individual bow.
Cats was finished. I don’t know if I felt more sad or happy when Tugger last exited the stage with a loud « Woo-hoo! ». I got out and my mom joked a bit. She said : « Ok now let’s find a way out that won’t require us to pass in front of the merchandise stand. I’m afraid if you get close to the stand again you’ll make me loose our house! » XD Anyways. My third ever experience at Cats was just as amazing as the two first ones, and I truly wish that one day I’ll get to sit in this theater again and see the show once more. Preferably in the first row this time :wink :
AFTER THE SHOW
My mom took me eat a dougnnut and then we went back home in bus and metro. I still feel kinda nostalgic and I am currently listening to the Australian Cats track. I’ll soon hang my poster on my wall, put my program in a safe place, hang my t-shirts safely in my wardrobe and put my confetti strands together in a small box. Materially, that’s all I will have left from the musical, but my head’s still full of moving images I all took the time to write down, so they won’t become a memory. Pun intended.
With love!
EK
P.S. Here are a few extras that I decided to add because they are fun. I wrote these judging from the two representations I saw combined :
HIGHLIGHT OF THE SHOW : The green eyes at the beginning, and the cast members that run around the audience. That’s when you feel the closest to the performers in my opinion.
BEST MOMENT OF MY EXPERIENCE : The amazing intermission of the first representation. Touching OldD plus talking to two of the actors was way more than I could ever expect!
BEST PERFORMER ON THE SINGING LEVEL : Angie Smith as Grizabella (that’s kinda a given) and Christopher E. Sidoli as Gus/Growltiger.
BEST PERFORMER ON THE DANCING LEVEL : Ryan Richardson, Misto’s understudy, Sara M. Rearson as Victoria as well as Luke McCollum, who had amazing acrobatic moves as Alonzo!
BEST PERFORMER ON THE ACTING LEVEL : I'll have to say Munkustrap and Jennyanydots. I really loved how the Jenny looked all happy outside of the stage too!
PERFORMER WITH THE BEST CAT ATTITUDE : Sara M. Rearson as Victoria. She was the most credible kitten on the stage. She even scratched her ears with her right leg, amazing move!
GREATEST NUMBER TO WATCH : It has to be a tie betwen Jellicle songs for Jellicle cats/Growltiger’s last stand. The Siamese were just that amazing.
FUNNIEST MOMENT OF ALL : The short humping betwen Growltiger and Griddle. Something I really wasn’t expecting to see XD
MOST MOVING MOMENT OF ALL : When Victoria’s understudy touched Griz, so shyly at first, but then with so much affection and understanding.
