Hello, fellow "CATS" fans!
This should be a fairly unique trip report.
Can you possibly imagine "CATS" without their beloved junkyard? That's what happened at the opening show Tuesday, the ninth. One of the trucks had a mechanical break-down, but the "show must go on!"
Six relatives and I arrived for "CATS" Tuesday evening, to find out that the set hadn't arrived yet! The wonderful performers sure reminded the theater full of paying customers that it is the performers that really make the show! They performed the entire show on a pretty-much bare stage--Bustopher's hat sure got lots of mileage that evening and Grizabella's "flying saucer" reaches the stage floor, so she was able to make it to the "Heavyside Layer!"
Actually, after the show, they gave us the option to either get tickets for another show or get a full refund. Of course, we got tickets for the next day's show, which was GREAT!
Two of my great-neices are "CATS" fans like their great Aunt, and one of the cats even crawled over an entire row of seats to "greet" us after the second show!

My first post wasn't the best. . .sorry! The performers had their costumes and make-up and the moon backdrop was there, as well as the peices of the train, but the main junkyard set didn't arrive in time for the opening show. The performers did a wonderful job with what they had, and I had the extreme good fortune to run into three of them at McDonalds after the first show and told them that!
The show, of course, IS lots more fun when the kitties have their junkyard to crawl around on and pyramid up on for "naming", and so on. I sure hope our tour posters see this--I hope the trolls have not chased them away (again).
