Just last night I got to see Cats on stage for the first time. It was to die for. Of course, seeing it was also one of my life time goals (since it's not on Broadway anymore, I was estatic to find out that it was coming to near my home town >^.^<) Anyway, I was able to get in the third row of the balcony along with some of my friends to watch the show. I even brought alone binoculars (sp?) so that I could get a good look at their face paint and constumes and stuff. It was sooo good! Although, after scruitinizing the cast list and compairing it to the costumes I was quite confused to figure out that they were calling Jemmima, Silabub. I've been trying to find out why but so far I haven't had any luck.
One of my favorite parts about it was that I got to see Growltiger's Last Stand. So far the only version I'd been able to see was the tape, and i'm sure you (or most of you) know that that sceane's not in it. Of course I also have a few complaints partaining to Rumpleteazer's voice. Not to be mean, but it was so sqeaky that I started to get a headache halfway through the song.
The absolute best part of the play, however, was after the actors had taken their bows and were leaving the stage. Tugger and Bomba (I don't know the actor/ess' names) put on a little skit with Bomba getting back at Tugger for pushing her away during his introduction song. It was so funny! In it he tried to cuddle up to Bomba as they were walking off, she pushed him to the ground, then walked over him to get off the stage. He then proceeded to chase after her.
All in all it was one of the best things I have ever seen! Kudos to the actors of that troup!
