Chapter 3:
Upon further inspection of the skeleton, he found that there were other small differences. The ribs and spine were placed differently than normal humans. From what he could tell, this person would have been quite flexible. The hands and feet also seemed to be differently situated, though he couldn't exactly tell what the difference was. The oddest part was the tailbone. It was qute longer than any human tailbone that he could recall. Was this someone who had been disfigured, and because of it worshipped by people in the past? Is that why he was on the stone slab surrounded by all these markings?
Lloyd found a long vase and set his torch inside it so he didn't have to hold it while examining the skeleton and room. He sat down to jot down on his notepad some of the hyroglyphics and see if he could make any sort of sense out of them. After several hours at it, he decided to take a break. Lloyd sat down and took out some of the food he had brought along with him. As he bit down into the dried fish, his eyes happened to glance at the northernmost wall. Without taking his eyes off the wall, he slowly set his food down and stepped over to the wall. What was it that drew him over? What was different? Ahh...there...the hyroglyphics along the top border were more than just random markings. They seemed to be pointing down. His eyes followed the path of the arrow and saw a circle with edgings around it and more odd characters.
Lloyd placed his hand over it as he studied it and felt a very slight breeze. With his heart pounding with nervous expectation, he pushed harder on the spot and was half delighted, half amazed to see it went in with ease, and that the wall seemed to be moving! He stepped back, half expecting some deadly booby trap to be sprung like he had seen in the movies. But nothing more happened. Lloyd went back to grab his torch and slowly approached the new door once more. There was another room beyond the wall.
With trepidation, the man stepped into the hidden room and saw that it was shaped and looked just like the previous room. He had a very strange feeling pass through him as he stepped in. There was something almost, well, magical in the atmosphere of the room. Atmosphere. That's when he noticed it. The air in the room wasn't stale like the previous one! It was as fresh and clean as if he were standing outside once more! He looked around the room for signs of airducts or something to that affect, but saw nothing.
So enthralled with the room was he that he hadn't noticed the stone table in the center of the room. Perhaps it was because the table was the same as in the first room. But now that he took a look at the table, he nearly dropped his torch! There wasn't a skeleton on this table. There was a figure of some sort! His hand began to shake as he ever so slowly approached the table and looked down on the furry creature lying there. Was it mummified? His heart beat in his chest so hard, he feared it would nearly burst! A movement caught his eye and he stopped breathing. The creature was alive!
