Please note that I am trying to get this written quickly. It still has some "clean up" to do.

Chapter 1:
He opened his eyes into a cavern he did not
know. His thoughts were of nothing. He knew nothing. But he
must know something. He was in a cavern. It was light. No. It
was dark. But he could see fine in the dim light. The figure
could feel his ears move as he heard a noise nearby. What was
that? Slowly, it filtered through his mottled brain that the
sound he heard was snoring. It was coming from his left side
and down a bit. Turning his head, the figure blinked his eyes
and saw another figure asleep. Why did this other figure seem
so....odd?
Before he realized what he was doing, a yawn
worked it's way through his system and he couldn't resist the
urge to sit up and stretch his back and arms. As he did so, he
noticed the long, gray fur. That's why the second figure
seemed so odd. It had no fur. He turned his head and finally
looked around the cavern he was in. There was a fire pit off
towards the side in which the fire was slowly dying. The only
other items he saw was an odd bundle of cloth lying near the
furless creature.
He saw that he had been lying on a stone slab
with writing on it that looked familiar, but he could not
decipher it. At this point, his legs were hanging over the
edge of the slab and he pushed himself off to stand up. Only,
his muscles didn't seem to want to cooperate. With on "oof!"
his legs buckled under his weight and he fell hard to the
ground waking the sleeping creature up.
He lifted his head and stared at the now
wide-eyed figure. He stayed frozen where he was, wondering if
he should try to run, but realizing he couldn't even if he
tried. The fur on his arms rose a bit, and he opened his mouth
to hiss at the furless creature as it moved. The creature
froze, then spoke in soft tones a language he didn't
understand. Was it trying to communicate?
He spoke. "Who and what are you?" The creature
looked puzzled then spoke in it's language again. He shook his
head and then noticed out of the corner of his eye a flash of
fur waving slightly behind him. Something inside him told him
it was his tail. It was flickering as though warning the
creature to stay away. He sat up slowly keeping his eyes on
the creature. It didn't seem to make any sudden moves except
towards the fire. There was something nearby that he hadn't
seen at first. He watched the creature silently open the
bundle of cloths and put it on a hard, flat surface with a
handle on it.
Soon, a sensation in his nose, as though it had
been long forgotten, began to make itself known. He began to
sniff the air as a rumble came from his stomache. Food. The
creature had food. He tested his legs once more and found he
still could not use them. So he contented himself to watch the
creature until it moved towards him with a flat rock with the
food on it. He was wary of the creature, but it didn't seem to
want to harm him. He bared his teeth as the creature got too
close, causing it to pause and then lower the food to the
ground. It pushed the rock just enough forward for him to
reach out and grab it, but not to reach it.
He didn't take the food at first. He kept his
eyes on furless figure for a long time until his stomache
groaned in protest to the smell of the food. He finally
reached out and grabbed the rock and pulled it towards him. He
ate hesitantly at first, then dug into the food as though he
hadn't eaten since...well, he didn't know WHEN he had last
eaten. In fact, he didn't know much about himself at all.How
did he get here? Why weren't his legs working? What is the
creature before him? But all this didn't seem as important as
the big question in his mind. Who was HE?
