Knittin Kittens

What I did with my warmers was measure the starting point, ie ankle or just around the knuckles of my hand, and figure out how many stitches I would need to cast on. Mom helped with that part, but it mainly depends on what kind of yarn you're using. with the leg warmers I had to increase at a certain point since me thigh is considerably wider than my ankle. I did a ribbed cuff on all of them, which is done by going knit 2, purl 2 all along the row. It's helpful therefore for the number of stitches to be divisible by four. On the leg warmers I made the cuff somewhat longer so I could fold it over and put elastic in. For the rest of the warmer I did a basic garter stitch, which is knit one row, purl the next, and so on. All this on a circular needle, though not "in the round". When done I stitched it up the side, either with the yarn I had used or a matching thread.
I used a thickish yarn that is crinkly and varigated, giving it an even more fuzzy look.
