"see in the dark" -
This phrase is referring to the fact that many think that cats can see in the dark. In reality, although they can see much better than humans is lesser light, they cannot see in pitch black. Their eyes are made so that they reflect any light around and use it to the cats advantage. This is also why cats eyes seem to glow in the dark at times.
